Introduction

New 418-6662 Instrument Panel Box Gp is now available for the models listed above, that are currently equipped with 4P-9566 Control Panel Gp, 103-6193 Control Panel Gp, or 109-4032 Electrical Shutoff Gp. The 418-6662 Instrument Panel Box Gp is a service replacement for the Cat® Engines and Gensets that are equipped with Gas Engine Status Display Module in a wall mounted enclosure. As these panel boxes become obsolete, Caterpillar recommends that the customers upgrade to the new 418-6662 Instrument Panel Box Gp .

The new 418-6662 Instrument Panel Box Gp consists of a 368-7106 Generator Set Control Gp (OCP 4.3), a CAN Annunciator, an EIS Reset Toggle Switch, and an E-Stop pushbutton mounted in a sheet metal panel.

The new 418-6662 Instrument Panel Box Gp has improvements that are listed below:

368-7106 Generator Set Control Gp (OCP 4.3)

  • The 368-7106 Generator Set Control Gp is configurable. All parameters and events can be viewed and configured through Cat® Electronic Technical (Cat ET) such as Automatic Start/Stop, Crank Attempt/Successful Start Counter, Engine Speed as well as Digital and Analog Inputs and Outputs and Diagnostic, Engine Protection, Other System, and Custom Events.

  • The 368-7106 Generator Set Control Gp will communicate the Jacket Water Temperature and Oil Pressure through the sensor inputs.

  • The internally built clock can be set through the "Time/Date" setup under the Configure menu.

Events (Annunciator)

  • The new Annunciator has the capability of showing specific events or diagnostics with Amber, Red, or Green LEDs along with the respective functions.

  • An alarm will sound when an unexpected shutdown, forced shut down (E-Stop), or controlled shutdown is required on the Engine/Generator.

Cat® Fleet and ECM Replacement Configuration

Default Fleet and ECM Replacement summaries are available in "xml" up-loadable configuration format.

Digital Diagnostic Tool Connector (DDTC)

A DDTC tool port has been provided to assist in evaluating the diagnostics from the Electronic Ignition System.

Dealer Service Tools

Cat ET and Digital Diagnostic Tool can be used as service tools to evaluate the system. Additionally, a Communication Adapter II or III will suffice with the service tools.

Product Link

The 418-6662 Instrument Panel Box Gp has a provision to add a Product Link 421 (PL 421) to the enclosure.
