NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (1).

  2. Remove bolts (2) and cover (3). Remove bolts (4) and guard assembly (5).

  3. Remove two bolts (6). Install Tooling (A).

  4. Remove the remaining bolts (6). Reposition vibration damper (7) onto Tooling (A). Attach a suitable lifting device to vibration damper (7). The weight of vibration damper (7) is approximately 186 kg (410 lb). Remove vibration damper (7).

  5. Remove Tooling (A).

  6. Remove two bolts (8). Install Tooling (B).

  7. Remove remaining bolts (8) and bolts (9). Reposition adapter (10) onto Tooling (B). Attach a suitable lifting device to adapter (10). The weight of adapter (10) is approximately 29 kg (65 lb). Remove adapter (10).

  8. For information on rebuilding vibration dampers, refer to Reuse and Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8152, "Procedures to Rebuild Vibration Dampers for 3600 Family of Engines".

Installation Procedure

  1. Install vibration damper (7) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (C) to the threads and mounting surface of bolts (8).

    2. Apply Tooling (C) to the threads and mounting surface of bolts (6). Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 1150 ± 150 N·m (848 ± 111 lb ft).
