- Locate the additional fuel filter on a secure surface of the application that is insulated from significant vibration. Ensure that there are no obstructions behind the surface. The additional fuel filter should be mounted at the height of the secondary fuel filter.
- Drill two mounting holes into the surface.
- Install two M8 bolts to the additional fuel filter base.
- Install additional fuel filter assembly to the surface. Secure additional fuel filter assembly with nuts.
- Make a flexible hose to a specification that complies with SAE J30R9, ISO 4639-2 or DIN 73379. The required internal diameter of the flexible fuel hose should be 8 mm (0.3 inch). The wall thickness of the flexible fuel hose should be 3 mm (0.1 inch). The maximum length of each hose is two meters.
Note: The hose should be assembled with a combination of either 90 degree connectors or straight connectors.

Typical example |
- Remove the plugs from the fuel connections. Connect the flexible fuel hose to the ECM connection (A) and the inlet connection (B) of the additional fuel filter. Then connect the flexible fuel hose between the outlet connection (C) of the additional fuel filter and the inlet connection (D) of the secondary fuel filter base.
Note: The flexible fuel hose should be clipped to the application in order to ensure that the flexible fuel hose is not damaged by other components. Clips are provided, although other clips can be used.
- Prime the fuel system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime".
- Run the engine. Check the fuel system for leaks.
Note: The additional fuel filter should be replaced at the same time as the secondary fuel filter.
