Inspect the prelube pump for the following conditions:
- Cracks
- Pin holes
- Proper operation
- Wear
Inspect the prelube pump for leaks. Replace all of the seals if a leak is observed.
If repair or replacement is necessary, refer to the engine's Disassembly and Assembly manual. Consult your Caterpillar dealer for assistance.

Inspect all of the components in the air circuit for the prelube pump. Inspect all of the air lines and connections for leaks. Ensure that the components in the air circuit are in good condition.

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Remove the hose from the prelube pump. Remove the screen from the hose. If necessary, clean the screen. Replace the screen and the hose.
If repair or replacement is necessary, refer to the engine's Disassembly and Assembly manual. Consult your Caterpillar dealer for assistance.
