Note: Perform this procedure on a smooth horizontal surface for the most accurate reading.

  1. Allow the engine to run for a period of two minutes at LOW IDLE position with the transmission in the Park position.

  2. Ensure that the oil level is in the upper portion of the center window on sight gauge. (1)

  3. If necessary, add transmission oil.

Note: The location and the type of transmission oil filler cap will vary depending on the machine.

    1. Remove transmission oil filler cap.

    2. Add the correct type of transmission oil.

Note: 3.8 L (1 US gal) of transmission oil will raise the level in the sight gauge 10 mm (0.4 inch).

Reference: See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the correct type of transmission oil.

    3. Clean transmission oil filler cap. Install transmission oil filler cap.

  4. Stop the engine.

  5. Visually inspect the transmission for leaks. Check for leaks under the transmission and around the drain plug.
