Usage:
A 6V3010 Puller Group is now available. The new puller is a cross bar type, similar to others currently available, but smaller in size. The smaller size makes the new puller easier to use in many applications, including removal of smaller gears, pulleys, flanges, etc. It can be used in place of some current fabricated tools for removal of crankshaft pulleys, timing gears, and transmission input flanges. An example is the later FT530 Puller Tool (change 1 or 2), which is used in several applications, including:
... Removal of crankshaft pulleys from 3304 and 3306 Vehicular Engines in Series "G" Motor Graders.
... Removal of transmission input flanges on D6C, D7E, D7F, D8, and earlier D9 Tractors; 561C, 571A, 571F, 572E, 572F Pipelayers; and 983 Loaders.
Components of the 6V3010 Puller Group are 6V3009 Cross Bar and one 6V4832 Screw. See Illustration 1. The screw has a total length of 295.3 mm (11.63"), with a 3/4-16 thread which extends 254.0 mm (10.0") from the flat contact surface at the end of the screw. The 6V3009 Cross Bar is made from 35.0 mm (1.38") square steel, 209.6 ± 1.5 mm (8.25 ± .06") long. The slots in the bar are 13.7 ± 0.5 mm (.54 ± .02") wide for 12.7 mm (.50") diameter bolts.
The 6V3009 Cross Bar can be used in applications other than the puller group. Four cross bars, with necessary bolts and washers, are used for compression of the pads during removal of the equalizer bar on 943 and 953 Loaders. See Illustration 2. The bolts used in this application are 8S3887 Bolts.
