Fittings for the Jacket Water Heater
Note: The jacket water heater is only available on the 3056 Marine engine.

A jacket water heater may be installed in order to aid in starting the engine in colder temperatures.
Refer to Illustration 1 for a typical installation. The supply (2) for the jacket water heater is a tapped hole in the cylinder block. The tapped hole in the cylinder block is 1/4 - 18 NPSI. The return (1) for the jacket water heater is a tapped hole in the cylinder head. The tapped hole in the cylinder head is 1/2 - 14 NPSI.
Radiator hose or heater hose must be used in order to connect the jacket water heater to the fittings. The hoses must be installed so that chafing will not occur.

The hoses that connect the jacket water heater to the engine are part of the closed engine cooling system. Failure of the hoses will lead to engine overheating. Engine overheating can lead to possible engine damage. |

Fittings are available to supply a domestic water heater. Refer to Illustration 2 for the location of the fittings for the 3054 Marine engine and the 3054B Marine engine. Refer to Illustration 3 for the location of the fittings for the 3056 Marine engine. If the fittings are not installed on the engine, then the fittings can be installed at a later time.
