Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Use Tooling (A) to support the work tool.

  1. Remove nuts (1) .

  1. Remove hose assemblies (4). Remove bolts (3) and (5) .

  1. Loosen each bolt (2) by five turns. Slide piston motor (6) against bolts (2) .

  1. Install Tooling (B) and (C). Attach a suitable lifting device to piston motor (6). The piston motor weighs approximately 91 kg (200 lb).

  1. Remove bolts (2). Remove piston motor (6) .
