Obtain an oil sample of the final drive oil by removing the filler plug and taking the sample directly from the final drive housing. Refer to Special Publication, SEBU6250, "Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations" for information that pertains to obtaining an oil sample from the final drive housing. Refer to Special Publication, PEHP6001, "How To Take A Good Oil Sample" for more information about obtaining an oil sample from the final drive housing.
