Flywheel

Usage:

Remove and Install Flywheel

1. Fasten a hoist to Tool (A). Install Tool (A) to the flywheel.

2. Remove bolts (1) that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft. Remove flywheel (2). The weight is approximately 65 kg (145 lb).

3. Remove gear (3) from the flywheel if necessary.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the flywheel


NOTICE

Gear (3) must be positioned on flywheel (2) so that the chamfer on the teeth of gear (3) will face toward the starter pinion after the flywheel has been installed.


4. Heat gear (3) to a maximum temperature of 315° C (600° F). Install gear (3) on flywheel (2).

5. Fasten a hoist and Tool (A) to flywheel (2), and put it in position on the dowel of the crankshaft.

6. Apply 4C-5593 Anti-Seize Compound to the thread of bolts (1) that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 270 ± 40 N·m (200 ± 30 lb ft).
