Inlet and Exhaust Valves

Usage:

Remove and Install Inlet and Exhaust Valves

Start By:

a. remove cylinder head

1. Position the cylinder head on its side, as shown.

NOTE: To remove valve spring assemblies (1), refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Remove and Install Valve Spring Assemblies" for additional information.

2. Use Tooling (A) to remove valve spring assemblies (1).

3. Remove inlet and exhaust valves (3) from the valve guides (2) and the cylinder head.

4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the remaining inlet and exhaust valves needing removed.

NOTE: Use the following steps to install the inlet and exhaust valves.

5. Put clean engine oil on stem of inlet and exhaust valves (3). Install valve stem (3) into the cylinder head and valve guide (2).

NOTE: To install valve spring assemblies (1), refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Remove and Install Valve Spring Assemblies" for additional information.

6. Install valve spring assemblies (1).

a. install the cylinder head
