Premature nose-cone and king-pin wear may occur on the machines listed above.
Solution
Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility. |
Caterpillar is aware of this problem and recommends the following interim corrective action.
Nose-cone bearing and king-pin measurements must be taken at machine commissioning for new machine and anytime the nose-cone bearing and king-pin are replaced.
Inspect nose-cone bearing and king-pin wear every 2,000 hours during bearing and pin life.
Provide the following information to your dealer Technical Communicator (TC): TIB Media Number M0105790, machine serial number, and part hours at failure. Request the Dealer TC to submit the information through Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) feedback within the Service Information Management System (SIMSi).
