The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
An internal issue in the 390-2384 Alternator can result in machine not starting. The issue may also cause all functions to drop power when running and various battery voltage errors. Machines between these serial numbers using the C4.4 engine and alternator are not affected.
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but an interim repair has not been defined. Replace with the same part number.
