Introduction

Note: If the machine moves in reverse before the back-up alarm begins to operate, replace the propel handle.

This procedure confirms that the reverse switch is operating properly. Perform this test under any of the following conditions:

  • The back-up alarm does not operate.

  • The back-up alarm continuously operates.

  8. Insert black spoon from Tool (B) to into pin"3" of connector (7). Insert red spoon from Tool (B) into pin"4" of the connector.

  9. Connect Tool (B) to Tool (A).

Test Procedure

  1. Make sure propel lever (1) is in the NEUTRAL position.

  2. Set Tool (A) to measure continuity. The circuit across the switch should be open. If the circuit across the switch is closed, replace the propel lever, and retest the switch. If the circuit across the switch is open, go to the next step.

  3. Move propel lever (1) into the reverse range. The circuit across the reverse switch should close when the propel lever is moved into the reverse range.

  4. Move propel lever (1) into the NEUTRAL position. If the switch does not operate as described above, replace the propel handle, and retest the reverse switch. If the switch operates as described above, go to the next step.

  5. Remove Tool (B) from reverse switch connector (7).

  6. Plug reverse switch connector (7) into the machine harness.

  7. Position cover (6), and install six screws (5).
