Left Side of Machine (1) Flow divider valve |
On double-drum machines with traction control, flow divider valve (1) is mounted on the back of the hydraulic tank. The engine compartment cover provides access to the valve.
The ports on flow divider valve (1) are marked for identification. The following list identifies each port on the valve:
- Port"P" - Connected to port"B" of the propel pump
- Port"A" - Connected to port"R" of the front propel motor
- Port"B" - Connected to port"L" of rear propel motor
- Port"T" - Connected to tank
- Port"S" - Connected to charge filter outlet
During normal operation, the flow divider solenoid (not shown) is not energized. In this case, hydraulic flow to the propel motors is not controlled. When the flow divider solenoid is energized, flow divider valve (1) directs approximately one-half of the flow to each propel motor.

Left Side of Machine (2) Manual brake release pump (3) Needle valve |
On single-drum machines, manual brake release pump (2) is mounted on the back of the hydraulic tank. The engine compartment cover provides access to the hand pump.
Needle valve (3) is used with manual brake release pump (2) to release the parking brakes manually. The needle valve must be fully open (turned counterclockwise) during machine operation. The needle valve must be fully closed (turned clockwise) to use the manual brake release pump to release the parking brakes manually.
