Description of Change: The new thrust washer and plate for the camshaft retainers help, maintain a lubrication film on the contact surfaces during high load operation. The new retainers will help reduce cracking that can result from high temperatures generated between contact surfaces.

The 117-9308 Plate and 128-5993 Thrust Washer two part assembly replaces the 7N-3218 Thrust Washer one piece assembly. Table 1 contains the new part numbers and quantity needed for the 3524 engines. Table 2 contains the effective serial numbers.
