3406 SPARK IGNITED ENGINE Caterpillar

1. Disconnect fumes disposal tube (1).

2. Disconnect plug wire assemblies (3) and remove six bolts (2).

3. Remove valve cover (4).

4. Remove spark plug adapter (5) with tool (A).

NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the gas engine tube assemblies.

5. Place spark plug adapter (5) in the cylinder head. Use 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on threads of adapter and on threads in cylinder head. Torque the adapter to 95 ± 7 N·m (70 ± 5 lb ft).

6. Install valve cover (4).

7. Install six bolts (2).

8. Connect plug wire assemblies (3). Install fumes disposal tube (1).
