Usage:
1. Drain the coolant from the engine.
2. Remove four bolts (1).
3. Remove bolts, washers and retainers (2). Remove elbow (3) from the aftercooler.
4. Disconnect hose assembly (4).
5. Remove four bolts, washers and retainers (5).
6. Remove elbow (6) and the gasket from the aftercooler assembly.
7. Remove four bolts (7). Disconnect lower air elbow (8) and the gasket.
8. Install tooling (A) and fasten straps with a hoist to the aftercooler assembly.
9. Remove four bolts (10) and remove the aftercooler assembly (9). Weight of the aftercooler assembly is 52 Kg (115 lb).
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the aftercooler.
10. Connect a hoist and straps with tooling (A) to the aftercooler (9). Put aftercooler (9) in position and install four bolts (10).
11. Remove tooling (A) and the straps from the aftercooler assembly.
12. Connect lower air elbow (8) with four bolts (7). Inspect and replace the gasket if necessary.
13. Install water line elbow (6). Inspect and replace the gasket if necessary. Install four bolts (5), washers and retainers.
14. Install hose assembly (4).
15. Install four bolts (1).
16. Install four bolts (2), washers and retainers. Install elbow (3).
17. Check the coolant level in the engine. See Maintenance Manual.
Disassemble & Assemble Aftercooler
Start By:
a. remove aftercooler
1. Remove two adapters (1) with their gaskets and O-ring seals.
2. Remove twenty-six bolts (2) and the washers.
3. Remove housing (3) and its gasket.
4. Remove core assembly (4) from the aftercooler housing with its gasket.
5. Inspect O-ring seals (5) on the aftercooler core housing
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the aftercooler.
6. Replace the O-ring seals (5) on the aftercooler core housing if necessary.
7. Install core assembly (4) in the aftercooler housing with its gasket.
8. Install housing (3) and its gasket.
9. Install twenty-six bolts (2) and the washers.
10. Install two adapters (1) with their gaskets and O-ring seals.
