Exhaust Bypass Valve

Usage:

Remove & Install Exhaust Bypass Valve

1. Disconnect three tube assemblies (1).

2. Remove four nuts and washers (2).

3. Remove exhaust bypass valve and gasket (3).

NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the exhaust bypass valve.

4. Inspect and replace the gasket if necessary. Put exhaust bypass valve (3) in position and install four nuts and washers (2).

5. Connect three tube assemblies (1).

Disassemble & Assemble Exhaust Bypass Valve

Start By:

a. remove the exhaust bypass valve

1. Remove breather assembly (1) from the cover assembly (2).

2. Disassemble the exhaust bypass valve as follows:

a. Remove the five bolts holding housing (2) and housing (10) together.

b. Remove spring (4) and retainer (3) from housing (2).

c. Remove nut (5) from valve (11).

d. Remove retainer (6), diaphragm (7), plate (8) and washer (9) from valve (11).

e. Remove valve (11) from housing (10).

NOTE: Before assembly of the exhaust bypass valve inspect and replace the diaphragm and gasket if necessary.

NOTE: For the assembly of the exhaust bypass valve, reverse the disassembly steps.

NOTE: Torque for nut (5) is 12.5 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft).

a. install exhaust bypass valve
