Assembly Procedure

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  1. Position manifold (61) in a suitable vise. Install valve spool (75), spring (76), guide (77), and shims (78) into manifold (61). Install O-ring seal (74) into cap (73). Install cap (73) into manifold (61). Tighten cap (73) to a torque of 100 ± 10 N·m (75 ± 7 lb ft).

  2. Install O-ring seal (70), backup ring (71) and O-ring seal (72) onto valve assembly (69). Lubricate O-ring seals (70) and (72) and backup ring (71) with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  3. Install valve assembly (69) into manifold (61). Tighten valve assembly (69) to a torque of 20 ± 2 N·m (15 ± 1 lb ft).

  4. Install O-ring seal (66), backup ring (67), and O-ring seal (68) onto valve assembly (65). Lubricate O-ring seals (66) and (68) and backup ring (67) with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  5. Install valve assembly (65) into manifold (61). Tighten valve assembly (65) to a torque of 45 ± 5 N·m (33 ± 3 lb ft).

  6. Position manifold (61). Install O-ring seals (62), O-ring seal (63), and O-ring seal (64) into manifold (61).

  7. Install control valve (57) onto studs (14) and manifold (61).

  8. Refer to Steps 24 through 31 for the procedure to assemble control valve (57).

  9. Install O-ring seals (58), O-ring seal (59), and O-ring seal (60) into control valve (57).

  10. Install control valve (37) onto studs (14) and control valve (57).

  11. Refer to Steps 13 through 21 for the procedure to assemble control valve (37).

  12. Install O-ring seals (54), O-ring seal (55), and O-ring seal (56) into control valve (37).

  13. Install retainer (53), collars (52), and spring (51) onto valve spool (50).

  14. Position control valve (15) in a suitable vise. Install valve spool (50) into control valve (15).

  15. Install O-ring seal (48) and O-ring seal (49) into cover (47).

  16. Position cover (47) onto control valve (15) and install bolts (46).

  17. Install check valve (45) into control valve (15). Repeat for the opposite side.

  18. Install O-ring seal (42), backup ring (43), and O-ring seal (44) onto valve assembly (41). Lubricate O-ring seals (42) and (44) and backup ring (43) with the lubricant that is being sealed. Repeat the procedure for the second relief valve.

  19. Install valve assembly (41) into control valve (15). Repeat for the opposite side.

  20. Install spool (40) into control valve (15).

  21. Install O-ring seal (39) (not shown) onto plug (38) and install the plug into control valve (15).

  22. Install control valve (15) onto studs (14) and control valve (37).

  23. Install O-ring seals (34), O-ring seal (35), and O-ring seal (36) into control valve (15).

  24. Install retainer (31), collars (32), and spring (33) onto valve spool (30).

  25. Position control valve (13) in a suitable vise. Install valve spool (30) into control valve (13).

  26. Install O-ring seal (26) and O-ring seal (27) into cover (25). Install screw (28) and sealing nut (29).

  27. Position cover (25) onto control valve (13) and install bolts (24).

  28. Install valve assembly (23) into control valve (13). Repeat for the opposite side.

  29. Install O-ring seal (20), backup ring (21), and O-ring seal (22) onto plug (19). Lubricate the O-ring seals and the backup ring with the lubricant that is being sealed. Install plug (19) into control valve (13). Install the plug into the opposite side of the control valve.

  30. Install spool (18) into control valve (13).

  31. Install O-ring seal (17) (not shown) onto plug (16) and install the plug into control valve (13).

  32. Install control valve (13) onto studs (14) and control valve (15).

  33. Install O-ring seals (10), O-ring seal (11), and O-ring seal (12) into control valve (13).

  34. Install O-ring seals (7), backup rings (8), and O-ring seal (9) onto valve assembly (6). Lubricate O-ring seals (7) and (9) and backup rings (8) with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  35. Position manifold (5) in a suitable vise and install valve assembly (6). Tighten valve assembly (6) to a torque of 55 ± 5 N·m (40 ± 4 lb ft).

  36. Install manifold (5) and locknuts (4). Tighten locknuts (4) to a torque of 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  37. Position electronic pilot valve (2) onto bank valve (3) and install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 3 ± 0.3 N·m (27 ± 3.0 lb in).

End By:

  1. Install the main control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Control Valve (Implement) - Install".
