Upper Hitch

(1) Apply Loctite 7649 and then apply Loctite 243 to the bolt threads of the bolts prior to assembly.

Torque for the four bolts ... 120 ± 7 N·m (90 ± 5 lb ft)

(2) Apply Loctite 263 to the collar bore prior to assembly

(3) (10) Apply Loctite 243 to the outer edge of the seals. Lubricate the sealing lips with the lubricant being sealed.

(4) (7) Apply Loctite C5-A to the bearing cup bores prior to assembly.

(5) 9K-0721 Shim Pack:

Thickness of the shim pack ... 2.5400 ± 0.0762 mm (0.100 ± 0.003 inch)

(6) ( 9) Lubricate bearing cones with SAE 30 oil prior to assembly.

The rolling torque for the bearing cones should be ... 2.3 N·m to 13.6 N·m (20 lb in to 120 lb in)

(8) Apply Loctite 7649 and then apply Loctite 243 to the threads of the bolts prior to assembly.

Torque for the six bolts ... 120 ± 7 N·m (90 ± 5 lb ft)

Lower Hitch

(1) Apply Loctite 7649 and then apply Loctite 243 to the threads of the bolts prior to assembly.

Torque for the ten bolts ... 120 ± 7 N·m (90 ± 5 lb ft)

(2) (8) Apply Loctite 243 to the outer edge of the seal. Lubricate the sealing lips with the lubricant being sealed.

(3) 3K-6401 Shim Pack:

Thickness of the shim pack ... 2.5908 ± 0.0762 mm (0.102 ± 0.003 inch)

(4) (6) Apply Loctite C5-A to the bearing cup bores prior to assembly.

(5) ( 7) Lubricate the bearing cones with SAE 30 oil prior to assembly.

The rolling torque for the bearing cones should be ... 9.1 N·m to 45.6 N·m (80 lb in to 400 lb in.)

(9) Apply Loctite 620 to the spacer bore prior to assembly.

(10) Apply Loctite 7649 and then apply Loctite 243 to the threads of the bolts prior to assembly.

Torque for the eight bolts ... 135 ± 7 N·m (100 ± 5 lb ft)

(11) Apply Loctite 7649 and then apply Loctite 243 to the threads of the bolts prior to assembly.

Torque for the four bolts ... 475 ± 14 N·m (350 ± 10 lb ft)

(12) 117-0293 Shim Pack:

Thickness of the shim pack ... 3.90 ± 0.08 mm (0.1535 ± 0.0031 inch)

(13) 3K-6412 Shim Pack:

Thickness of the shim pack ... 2.5908 ± 0.0762 mm (0.102 ± 0.003 inch)
