(1) These surfaces must be clean and the surfaces must be free of the protective coating prior to assembly.
(2) Apply a thin coat of oil on the seal.
(3) At assembly, O-rings of floating seal and all surfaces in contact with the O-rings must be clean and dry. Apply a thin coat of oil on the contacting surfaces of the metal seals before installation.
(4) End Play:
- Minimum ... 0.25 mm (.010 inch)
- Maximum ... 1.25 mm (.050 inch)
(5) The plug must be recessed below the surface of the stopper after assembly. ... 0 to 5 (0 to .2 inch)
Add 285 ± 15 mL (10 ± .5 ounce) of SAE 30CD oil before installing the stopper and the plug.
