574B Forwarder Power Train Caterpillar

Power Train Drive Loop Speed - Test and Adjust

Usage:

574B CZZ
The machine has a hydrostatic drive loop. The drive loop is a closed loop circuit.

The drive loop uses hydraulic oil from the power train pump. The IQAN controls the oil flow from the power train pump to the power train motor.

The power train pump has a maximum current setting and a minimum current setting for the forward direction and the reverse direction.

Preparation for Adjustment

The current settings for the options in the "Maintenance" menu are locked at the factory. A PC that is equipped with IQANtalk software must be used to unlock these current settings for adjustment.

  1. Select "Send F2" (5) or press "F5" in order to send the current parameters for the "Hydrostat" option. This will allow the "XMSN pump" option and the "XMSN motor" in the "Maintenance" menu to be adjusted on your IQAN display.

Power Train Pump - Test and Adjust

Minimum Current - Test

This test ensures that the machine begins to move soon after you press the accelerator pedal. The minimum current setting of the proportional solenoid on the power train pump controls when the power train motor begins to send oil through the drive loop.

  1. If your machine has chains or tracks that are mounted on the tires, remove the chains or the tracks.

  1. Ensure that the hydraulic oil in the system is at normal operating temperature.

  1. Start the engine. Move the machine to a smooth level surface. Be sure that all wheels are on the ground.

  1. Press the operating mode switch in order to activate the working mode.

Note: The operating mode switch will light in the working mode.

  1. Place the machine speed potentiometer to the maximum setting.

Forward

"Min forward" - Adjust

This is the minimum current setting for the power train pump in the forward direction. The minimum current should be adjusted so that the machine does not move during the initial movement of accelerator pedal. When the accelerator pedal is pushed slightly more the machine should begin to move. If the minimum current is too high, the machine will jump when you move the accelerator pedal. If the minimum current is too low the accelerator pedal must be moved excessively in order to begin the movement of the machine.
