3304 AND 3306 MARINE ENGINES Caterpillar

After Stopping the Engine

Usage:

1. Fill the fuel tank to prevent accumulation of moisture in the fuel.

2. If freezing temperatures are expected, allow the engine jacket water expansion tank to cool; then check the coolant for proper antifreeze protection. The cooling system must be protected against freezing to the lowest expected outside temperature. Add permanent-type antifreeze if required.

Fill the expansion tank to 13 mm (1/2 in) from bottom of the fill pipe.

3. Repair any leaks, perform minor adjustments, tighten loose bolts, etc.
4. Observe the service meter reading. Perform periodic maintenance as instructed in the Lubrication and Maintenance Chart of this guide.
