PROBLEM
Frame cracking has been reported on the pump drive mount in the mid-frame area of certain 793F, 793F CMD, and 793F XQ Off-Highway Trucks. This program applies to cracks found in the fillet weld connecting the pump drive mount to the inside window plate of the right frame rail. Before applying this program please contact Large Off-Highway Truck Product Support for additional repair recommendations. Cracks that go unidentified or identified and left unattended can lead to invasive frame repairs and/or severe frame damage. |

ACTION REQUIRED
If a crack is identified on the pump drive mount, excavate and repair crack per the specifications listed in the Rework Procedure. Refer to Images 1&2 for pump drive mount location and Image 3 for an example of a crack on the pump drive mount at the upper rear corner. Note: Refer to the machines Operation and Maintenance Manual for frame inspection frequency. NOTE: This is a 6.0-hour job | ||||||
21 additional labor hours allowed if the pump drive is required to be removed to complete the repair. 1 additional labor hour allowed if the 2 blocks on the window plate are TIG dressed. It is required to attach pictures showing the cracking and all post-repair TIG dressed fillet welds to SIMSi when submitting the warranty claim. This program can be applied multiple times if necessary. |
