Usage:
1. Remove coolant from cooling system.
2. Disconnect the fuel inlet line and fuel outlet line from the fuel filter base.
3. Remove front cover guard (2) by removing bolts (1)
4. Disconnect outlet line hose (3) for engine coolant and shunt line hose (4). Disconnect hose (5).
5. Remove rear bolts (7) and (8).
6. Fasten a hoist to the expansion tank and heat exchanger. Remove bolts (6).
7. Remove expansion tank and heat exchanger as a unit. Weight of the unit is 35 kg (78 lb).
NOTE: Inspect and put oil on the engine coolant inlet seal before installing the expansion tank and heat exchanger.
NOTE: For installation of the expansion tank and heat exchanger, reverse the removal steps.
8. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.
Remove & Install Expansion Tank & Heat Exchanger (Marine Engine With Turbocharger)
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
2. Disconnect the fuel inlet line and fuel outlet line (1) from the fuel filter base.
3. Disconnect hoses (2) and (3) from the heat exchanger.
4. Disconnect hose assembly (4) and tube assembly (5) from the expansion tank.
5. Disconnect the fuel lines to junction block (7). Remove bolt (6) and junction block (7) from the engine.
6. Disconnect hoses (9) and (10) from the heat exchanger.
7. Fasten a hoist to the heat exchanger and expansion tank. Remove the bolt and nut (8).
8. Remove the bolts that hold bracket (11) to the timing gear cover. Remove the expansion tank and heat exchanger as a unit. The weight of the unit is 39 kg (85 lb).
NOTE: Inspect and put oil on the engine coolant inlet seal before installing the expansion tank and heat exchanger.
NOTE: For installation of the expansion tank and heat exchanger, reverse the removal steps.
9. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.
