Usage:
Start By:
a. remove fuel injection lines
1. Remove eight bolts (1).
2. Loosen clamp (3) and push crankcase ventilator valve hose (2) away from the air inlet manifold.
3. Remove air inlet manifold (4).
4. Put tape over the openings in the cylinder heads to keep dirt or foreign material out of the engine.
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the air inlet manifold.
5. Remove the tape from the openings in the cylinder heads.
6. Install new gaskets.
7. Put air inlet manifold (4) in position on the engine and install bolts (1).
8. Tighten the bolts for the manifold as follows:
a. Tighten bolts 3 and 4 to a torque of 20 ± 7 N·m (15 ± 5 lb ft).
b. Tighten bolts 1 through 8 in number sequence to a torque of 43 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft).
9. Connect hose (2) and tighten clamp (3).

Remove & Install Air Inlet Manifold (Marine Engine With Turbocharger)
1. Remove air cleaner element (1).
2. Remove three bolts (2) that hold tube (3) and pipe (4) in position.
3. Loosen the hose clamps and remove tube (3).
4. Remove the bolt and washer that hold pipe (4) in the turbocharger housing and remove pipe (4).
5. Loosen the hose clamps on each end of tube (5). Remove bolts (6), air cleaner bracket (7), tube (5), the hose, and the bracket.
6. Remove the bolts and air inlet manifold (8).
7. Put tape over the openings in the cylinder heads to keep dirt and foreign materials out of the engine.
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the air inlet manifold.
8. Remove the tape from the openings in the cylinder heads.
9. Put the gaskets and air inlet manifold (8) in position on the engine and install the bolts.
NOTE: If the plugs in air inlet manifold (1) were removed, put 8H4137 Sealer on the threads of the plugs before they are installed.
10. Tighten the bolts for the manifold as follows:
a. Tighten bolts 3 and 4 to a torque of 20 ± 7 N·m (15 ± 5 lb ft).
b. Tighten bolts 1 through 8 in number sequence to a torque of 43 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft).
11. Put tube (5), the hose, the bracket, and air cleaner bracket (7) in position and install bolts (6). Tighten the hose clamps to a torque of 2.3 ± 0.2 N·m (20 ± 2 lb in).
12. Put clean oil on the seals for pipe (4). Install the pipe in the turbocharger.
13. Install the bolt and washer to hold pipe (4) in the turbocharger.
14. Put tube (3) in position and install bolts (2) to hold pipe (4) and the clip for tube (3) in position. Tighten the hose clamps on tube (3) to a torque of 2.3 ± 0.2 N·m (20 ± 2 lb in).
15. Install air cleaner element (1).
