Product Support Program For Timing Gear Housing Gasket Leaks On Certain Challenger 75 Tractors And 3176 Truck Engines Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0684" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use " Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The 7C8255 or 4P8165 Gasket, located between the timing gear housing and the spacer block, may leak on certain Challenger 75 Tractors and 3176 Truck Engines.

Action Required

If a 7C8255 or 4P8165 Gasket leaks, refer to Special Instructions SEHS9672, "3176 Engine Timing Gear Housing Gasket Repair" to repair the engine.
