Usage:
If the steering control unit (SCU) drive is not timed correctly, the machine can turn in the opposite direction as the steering wheel. To prevent personal injury, loss of life and/or property damage, make sure the drive is timed as follows. |
Pin (1) and the groove of the drive shaft must be aligned with the root of rotor (2) as shown during assembly.
Tighten seven bolts in sequence shown to an initial torque of ... 3 to 4 N·m (18 to 27 lb in)
Then tighten bolts in sequence to a final torque of ... 20 to 25 N·m (15 to 19 lb ft)
(3) Torque for plug ... 14 to 19 N·m (10 to 14 lb ft)
(4) Torque for five fittings ... 25 to 35 N·m (20 to 25 lb ft)
(5) Torque for plug and roll pin assembly ... 14 to 19 N·m (10 to 14 lb ft)
(6) Torque for four bolts ... 24 to 28 N·m (18 to 22 lb ft)
(7) Torque for nut ... 44 to 49 N·m (33 to 38 lb ft)
(8) Torque for clamp bolt ... 20 to 25 N·m (15 to 20 lb ft)
