NOTE: The torques for the wheel nuts (flat collar and acornshaped collar nuts) are for a nut quality of 10.9.
(1) Torque for M18 X 1,5 bolts ... 300 to 350 N·m (225 to 257 lb ft)
(1) Torque for M20 X 1,5 bolts ... 430 to 530 N·m (315 to 390 lb ft)
(1) Torque for M22 X 1,5 bolts ... 530 to 600 N·m (390 to 440 lb ft)
(2) Torque for 10 mm bolts ... 25 N·m (20 lb ft)
(2) Torque for 17 mm bolts ... 60 N·m (45 lb ft)
(2) Torque for 19 mm bolts ... 120 N·m (90 lb ft)
(3) Torque for spindle nut while rotating and striking hub with a mallet ... 23 N·m (17 lb ft)
Carrier
(4) Torque for pinion nut ... 320 to 410 N·m (240 to 300 lb ft)
(4) Torque for rotating pinion ... 2.3 to 4.5 N·m (20 to 40 lb in)
(5) Torque for 10 bolts ... 40 to 55 N·m (30 to 40 lb ft)
NOTE: Tighten 10 bolts (5) alternately and evenly.
(6) Torque for four bolts ... 110 to 120 N·m (80 to 90 lb ft)
(7) Torque for hex nut ... 350 N·m (257 lb ft)
Differential
(8) Torque for eight bolts ... 90 to 95 N·m (65 to 70 lb ft)
NOTE: Tighten eight bolts (8) alternately and evenly.
(9) Torque for eight bolts ... 135 to 160 N·m (100 to 120 lb ft)
(10) Torque for axle lockscrew (style A) ... 11 to 17 N·m (8 to 12 lb ft)
(11) Torque for axle lockscrew (style B) ... 20 to 35 N·m (15 to 25 lb ft)
Housing (6JD112-Up)
(12) Put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the threads of eight bolts and tighten to a torque of ... 49 N·m (38 lb ft)
(13) Torque for 12 bolts ... 120 N·m (90 lb ft)
NOTE: Cover hex heads bolts with 5P3321 sealing compound.
(14) Torque for three bolts ... 10 N·m (7 lb ft)
NOTE: Setscrews with 9S3263 Thread Lock applied to threads must be tightened into the remaining holes in bolt circle of housing before oil baffle plate is installed.
(15) Torque for nut ... 350 N·m (257 lb ft)
(16) Torque for eight bolts ... 73 N·m (52 lb ft)
(17) Torque for bolts ... 190 N·m (140 lb ft)
(18) Torque for eight bolts ... 120 N·m (90 lb ft)
NOTE: Tighten eight bolts (18) in a crossing pattern.
(19) Torque for two bolts ... 49 N·m (38 lb ft)
