Lubricant Gives Protection To Camshaft And Roller During Initial Start-Up

Usage:

3208 Engines

Caterpillar service literature makes the recommendation that engine oil be put on the camshaft and the valve lifter roller when they are assembled. This gives protection for initial (first) start-up after an overhaul. For extra protection a 2P2506 Lubricant can be used on the camshaft lobes and lifter rollers. This lubricant gives good protection in high pressure - low temperature applications. Also, the 2P2506 Lubricant will not cause any wrong indications in oil sample tests.

NOTE: The 2P2506 Lubricant must not be put on camshaft journals or bearings. Because of its high viscosity, it can cause foreign material to be held in the journal area. This can cause a decrease in bearing service life.
