- Before the engine oil filter is installed, place a thin film of clean engine oil on the face of the seal.
- Tighten the engine oil filter by hand until the seal contacts the mounting face of the cylinder block.
- Tighten the engine oil filter by hand according to the instructions that are shown on the filter. Do not overtighten the engine oil filter.
