Jacket Water Heater - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. The engine can start automatically. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.

  2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct procedure.

  3. Disconnect plug (3) from harness assembly.

  4. Remove bolts (1) and remove jacket water heater (2) from the engine block.

  5. Disconnect harness assembly (4) from jacket water heater (2).

  6. Remove O ring seal (5) from jacket water heater (2).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


Note: Ensure that the face of the engine cylinder block is clean and free from damage. Ensure that the face of the jacket water heater is clean and free from damage. Ensure that the jacket water heater is free from wear or damage. If necessary, replace the jacket water heater.

  1. Apply Tooling (A) to O-ring seal (5). Install jacket water heater (2) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 22 N·m (195 lb in).
