Reports from the Dealer Solution Network (DSN) state that dealer technicians have found retaining washers on top of the cylinder head after the valve cover has been removed. The retaining washers have fallen off the fuel manifold during disassembly.
The 147-3745 Retaining Washer is found in the assemblies for the fuel manifold on all 3500 Diesel Engines. The clamps, bolts and washers make up the subassembly for the fuel manifold. The 147-3745 Retaining Washer holds this subassembly together until the subassembly is installed on the engine at the factory.
Take care in order to ensure that the retaining washer does not fall onto the top of the cylinder head or into the cylinder head during field maintenance.
