Usage:
962G (7BW1-278, 3BS1-232) WHEEL LOADERS
Problem:
Ride control system may be reported as not performing well, especially with a loaded bucket. During troubleshooting, the accumulator is often found with low precharge pressure, which is a sign of nitrogen gas leak. The complete accumulator is often replaced to fix the problem.
Solution:
The 112-2605 Elbow fitted on top of the accumulator may be made from three pieces welded together, instead of being made in bent one-piece steel tube. The three-piece elbow can be leaking at the welds.
Before making any decision on accumulator replacement in case of loss of precharge pressure, the 112-2605 Elbow must be visually checked, and/or checked for gas leak at the welds. If gas leak is found to be a the elbow, replacing it by a new one (same part number) will fix the gas leak problem.
Starting with approximate machine S/N 7BW00553, 2JS00307, 7BW00279 and 3BS00233 ride control accumulators installed on factory assembly line have the one-piece elbow. Inventory in Parts system has been checked to ensure all parts are one-piece made.
