New Oil Pump Outlet Elbow Is Stronger{3314,3310}

Usage:

All 7271 Marine Transmissions

Description of Change: According to field reports, some customers have had problems with failure of the oil pump outlet elbow on 7271 Marine Transmissions. This is more common on transmissions driven by 3512 Marine Engines when operated at 1800 rpm. Vibrations, at this speed, can cause cracks in the outlet elbow.

A new ductile iron elbow is used which is stronger than the gray iron elbow formerly used. The new elbow will give a longer service life. See the illustration.

Adaptable As: The new 3T5040 Elbow is a direct replacement for the former 5N5623 Elbow, which is canceled.
