Tee-Test Plug And Pressure Tap (Connection) Plugs Can Be Tightened To A Higher Torque To Prevent Leaks{5050,0651}

Usage:

215, 225, 235, 245 Excavators;
235, 245 Front Shovels

In some applications, oil leakage at the tee-test plug and pressure tap (connection) plugs can be a problem on the above models. If oil leakage becomes a problem in high pressure applications, the 8J5914 Plug (tee-test), 9S4191, and 5P6719 Plugs (pressure tap) can be tightened to a higher torque than the standard recommendation.

The torque on the 8J5914 Plug can be increased from 200 ± 20 N·m (150 ± 15 lb ft) to 450 ± 35 N·m (330 ± 26 lb ft). The torque on the 9S4191 and 5P6719 Plugs can be increased from 30 ± 3 N·m (22 ± 2 lb ft) to 40 ± 4 N·m (30 ± 3 lb ft). Before the torque is increased to stop an existing leak, the recommendation is to remove the plug and install a new seal.
