The measurement of the speed of the turbocharger shaft is a key engine parameter in troubleshooting performance problems. This Special Instruction provides the information that is needed to add the capability to monitor the speed of turbocharger shaft to engines that do not have that capability. The Special Instruction includes the following information: parts list, installation instructions, instructions about the configuration of the tachometer and a calibration procedure. This new Special Instruction, REHS1026-00, "Installation And Callibration Of The 144-0441 Tachometer " is available through the Service Information System (SIS) and normal literature ordering channels.
