- Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Illustration 1 g01381346 - Position cover (5) into a suitable fixture. Apply clean hydraulic oil to the side of diaphragm (4) that is in contact with the gas.
Note: If necessary, use the accumulator mounting holes to prevent movement of the accumulator assembly.
- If necessary, install locating dowels (6).
- Install membrane (4) into base (3).
- Use two people to install base (3) onto cover (5). Refer to Table 2 for the approximate weight of base (3) and cover (5).

44 kg (97 lb) - Apply Tooling (A) the threads of bolts (2). Install bolts (2).
- Tighten bolts (2) in a criss-cross pattern to a torque of
250 N·m (184 lb ft) . Then tighten bolts (2) in a criss-cross pattern to a torque of500 N·m (369 lb ft) . - Install seal (1).
End By:
- Install the accumulator. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Accumulator - Install".
