- Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Illustration 1 g02644216 - Use Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to install hydraulic accumulator (5). Refer to Table 2 for the approximate weight of hydraulic accumulator (5).

- Apply Tooling (C) onto bolts (4). Install bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) in a criss-cross pattern to a torque of
250 N·m (184 lb ft) . Again tighten bolts (4) in a criss-cross pattern to a torque of500 N·m (369 lb ft) .Show/hide tableIllustration 3 g02643926 Show/hide tableIllustration 4 g02643923 - Install plugs (3) and plug (2).
Note: Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean hydraulic oil.

- Ensure that the hammer is secure, in an upright position, and cannot fall.
- Charge the accumulator. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Accumulator - Test and Charge".
