  6. Use Tool (C) and a suitable lifting device in order to remove differential (9) from differential carrier assembly (1).

    Illustration 7g00716254

  7. Identify differential case halves (11) for later assembly.

  8. Remove twelve bolts (10) and separate the differential case halves.

  11. Remove side gear (15) and remove thrust washer (16) (not shown) from differential case half (11).

    Illustration 11g00716272

  12. Remove bolts (17) that secure ring gear (18) to differential case half (11). Use a suitable press in order to separate the ring gear from the differential case half.

    Illustration 12g00724292

  13. Use a suitable press in order to remove bearing (19) from differential case half (11).

  14. Repeat Step 13 for the other differential case half.

  17. If yoke (21) is installed, then use Tool (E) in order to hold the yoke. Loosen retaining nut (22) for the yoke.

    Illustration 15g00716244

  18. Remove bolts (23) that secure seal flange (20) to the differential carrier assembly (1). Remove the seal flange and pinion gear assembly from the differential carrier assembly.

    Illustration 16g00724306

  19. Use Tool (F) to remove retaining clip (24). Use a suitable puller in order to remove bearing (25) from pinion gear (26).
