Rocker Shaft - Disassemble - 3003 Engines

Usage:

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the rocker shaft assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

    (1) Plug

    (2) Rocker shaft

    (3) Rocker arm

    (4) Rocker shaft bracket

    (5) Rocker arm

    (6) Washer

    (7) Spring

    (8) Washer

    (9) Pin

  1. Remove plug (1) from the end of rocker shaft (2) .

    Note: Place an identification mark on each of the components for installation.

  1. Remove rocker arm (3) and rocker shaft bracket (4) from rocker shaft (2) .

  1. Remove rocker arm (5) and washer (6) from rocker shaft (2) .

  1. Remove spring (7) and washer (8) from rocker shaft (2) .

  1. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 in order to remove the remaining components.

  1. Inspect pin (9) for wear or for damage. If pin (9) is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.
