Rocker Shaft - Disassemble - 3003 Engines
Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the rocker shaft assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Remove".

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Remove plug (1) from the end of rocker shaft (2) .

(1) Plug (2) Rocker shaft (3) Rocker arm (4) Rocker shaft bracket (5) Rocker arm (6) Washer (7) Spring (8) Washer (9) Pin | |
- Remove rocker arm (3) and rocker shaft bracket (4) from rocker shaft (2) .
Note: Place an identification mark on each of the components for installation.
- Remove rocker arm (5) and washer (6) from rocker shaft (2) .
- Remove spring (7) and washer (8) from rocker shaft (2) .
- Repeat Steps 2 through 4 in order to remove the remaining components.
- Inspect pin (9) for wear or for damage. If pin (9) is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.
