Start By:
- Remove the electric starting motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install".

- Install Tool (A) on the flywheel and attach a hoist.

Typical Example. Tooling (A) shown is not the tooling called out in the table. | |
- Remove bolts (1) and flywheel (2) from the crankshaft. The weight of the flywheel is 72 kg (160 lb).
- If necessary, use a hammer and a punch in order to remove the ring gear from the flywheel.
