(1) V-Band Clamps

Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on all of the threads of the nuts. Torque for bolts and nuts that hold the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold ... 55 ± 5 N·m (40 ± 4 lb ft)

Adjust and install the V-band clamps that holds the cartridge to the compressor housing, as follows:

1. Loosen the V-band clamps enough to allow the turbocharger to rotate.

2. Position the turbocharger with air pipes, exhaust pipes and oil lines, so that the turbocharger housings are aligned with each other.

3. Tighten the V-band clamps.

   Tighten the V-band clamps to the following torque. ... 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 0.74 lb ft)

4. Gently tap the V-band clamps.

5. Tighten the V-band clamps again.

   Tighten the V-band clamps to the following torque. ... 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 0.74 lb ft)

Note: Put clean engine oil in the oil inlet of the turbocharger after assembly or before installation in order to provide lubrication during start-up and/or storage protection.
