Usage:
The locomotive governor and derate module are mounted on a self contained plate assembly (8C6083) shown in FIG. 1A. All the components mounted on the plate are pre-wired so that the locomotive rebuilder/engine installer need only wire up to the terminal blocks TB 391 and TB 392. The plate has been designed to be mounted inside the main electrical cabinet of an SD 40-2 or SD 45-2 locomotive. It can be mounted on the inside face of one of the vertically hinged doors of the electrical cabinet that opens into the main cab of the locomotive. This is the most convenient location and provides a minimum of disturbance to the existing wiring and provides good accessibility for troubleshooting and maintenance.
If it is decided not to mount this plate assembly inside the electrical cabinet, it should be mounted in a suitable enclosure that provides suitable protection for the terminal strip connections.
