Exhaust Elbow
Usage:
Remove And Install Exhaust Elbow
1. Remove turbochargers (1). See the topic, Remove Turbochargers.
2. Install tooling (A) and a hoist to the top of exhaust elbow (2).
3. Remove nine bolts (3) and exhaust elbow (2). The weight of a 3508 exhaust elbow is 28 kg (62 lb). The weight of a 3512 or 3516 exhaust elbow is 48 kg (102 lb).
4. Remove the lines attached to support bracket (4).
5. Attach a hoist and tooling (A) to the support bracket. Remove the bolts that hold the support bracket to the engine and support bracket (4). The weight of the support bracket is approximately 35 kg (78 lb) for a 3508 and 117 kg (257 lb) for a 3512 or 3516.
NOTE: For installation of the exhaust elbow, reverse the removal steps.
