Usage:
1. Disconnect the tube from that comes from the water pump.
2. Disconnect and remove tube (1).
3. Fasten a hoist to water temperature regulator housings (2) as shown. Remove the bolts that hold the housings (2) to water manifolds (3) and brackets (4). Remove the housings from the engine. The weight of the housings is 49 kg (108 lb).
4. Remove the bolts and remove housing (5).
5. Remove regulators (6).
6. If necessary, remove seals (8).
7. Remove ferrule (7) and the ball from the housing if necessary.
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the water temperature regulators.
8. If the ball and ferrule were removed, install the ball and use tooling (A) to install the ferrule until it makes contact with the bottom of the bore. Make sure the open end of the ferrule is toward the outside of the housing.
9. If the seals were removed, use tooling (A) to install the seals in the housing. Make sure the lip of the seal is toward the inside of the housing.

If the water temperature regulators are installed wrong, it will cause the engine to overheat. |
10. Install water temperature regulators (6) in the housing with the spring up as shown.
11. Put the gasket and housing (5) in position on the regulators. Install the bolts to hold the housing in position.
12. Fasten a hoist to water temperature regulator housings (2) and put the housings and gaskets in position on the engine. Install the bolts to hold the housings to water manifolds (3) and brackets (4).
13. Install tube (1).
14. Connect the tube that comes from the water pump.
