CID 0281 FMI 05 Engine Lamp open/short to +batt
Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects a low current condition while attempting to activate the check engine warning lamp.
System Response:
If the lamp is shorted to a voltage source, the lamp will be on continuously. If the circuit for the lamp is open, the lamp will not turn on.
- There are no performance effects.
