Description of Change: A new wiper motor group, arm and shaft assembly are used in the windshield wiper group. The new components allow larger bearing surfaces in the linkage joints and wiper shaft for increased service life. The new shaft group also has a positive seal to keep water from getting to the shaft bearing.
Adaptable To: The part number of the improved 5T6550 Windshield Wiper Group has not changed. The new 8X2824 Wiper Motor Group is a direct replacement for the former 5T8177 Wiper Motor Group which has been canceled. The new 8X2823 Arm replaces the former 5T8175 Arm. The new 8X2822 Shaft Assembly replaces the former 5T8170 Wiper Linkage Group which has been canceled. The new component are adaptable to earlier trucks when used together.
