Usage:
PS-110, PS-130, PS-180 Pneumatic Compactors;
RR-250 Road Reclaimers;
SS-250 Soil Stabilizers
Description of Change: New tee fittings are used in the hydraulic brake lines. To facilitate the use of these new tee fittings, additional part changes were necessary. The former tees were unavailable which made it necessary to make these changes. On the compactors, a hole was added to both main frame triangular gussets at the rear wheel bolsters. Also, four tapped holes (one on each side of the two bolsters) were added in the same area as the gussets. These holes are used to clamp the lines for support, since the new tees do not have the support tab that were on the former tees.
Adaptable To: The charts identify the new components for the different machines.
The new tee fittings and associated clamps were effective as follows:
- RR-250 Road Reclaimer: 6ED121
- SS-250 Soil Stabilizer: 6DD129
- PS-110 Compactor: 7MD64
- PS-120 Compactor: 7ND215
- PS-180 Compactor: 7PD87
- SS-250 Soil Stabilizer: 6DD129
If the new type tee fittings are used to repair the former tee fittings on machines prior to the above serial numbers, the additional parts listed in the charts are needed. The 821527 Plug (8) and 2N1287 Elbow (9) will be reused on the RR-250 Road Reclaimer and SS-250 Soil Stabilizer.
On earlier compactors, bolt holes must be added to both gussets and two drilled and tapped holes must be added to both bolsters. Those holes will be used for clamps to support the lines and fittings. See Illustrations 2 and 3.
